I started tutoring classmates in high school, as part of a program for members of the National Honor Society. My college already had student tutors on hand, so instead I joined and started study groups for my college courses. In my spare time, I continued tutoring local high school and elementary students as part of a volunteers program. This summer I've been helping my younger brother prep for the SAT while studying for my GRE. All of the time we've spent with index cards and problem sets reminded me of how much I'd like to get back to it! In college, I was fortunate to become the editor-in-chief of our newspaper. By day, I partook in sophistcicated courses in math and economics, and by night, I was reading and editing voluminously for the paper. My coursework spans a concentration in math and economics, as well as an interest in history and political science.

I love to learn. I grew up dreaming of becoming a pilot. Then I was a big fan of basketball in high school, so I joined my college newspaper in the hopes of becoming a sports writer. I fell in love with my first economics course in college, and it wasn't long before I picked up on how simply an understanding of math could render economics. Now I work for a company that makes energy-efficient lighting, and I remain a big sports fan who's trying to learn to fly :)
