Experience
My goal as a teacher is to help students improve their English skills through tailor-made lessons fit to match the needs of each individual student. I have been teaching English as a second language for ten years, and I have vast experience with private tutoring as well as teaching classes of ten or more students. I am currently employed at a private language school in Manhattan where I have been teaching students from many different countries since 2006. The vast majority of my students have been Korean, and I am familiar with the particular strengths and weaknesses of Korean students who are learning English as a second language. In addition, I have a Master's degree in TESOL from Adelphi University. I am very patient, and my approach to teaching is student-centered. I specialize in accent reduction, spoken, and written English, as well as fluency and vocabulary, all while helping to insure that students develop confidence in their ability to learn and produce language in a safe and supportive environment. I also have extensive experience with curriculum development focusing on lessons that cater to the need of the student.
